Storage and maintenance of my fronts

Storage

Wood is a natural material that can warp slightly over time. Your fronts could warp if stored vertically (especially the larger models).

If, despite this, one of your fronts is slightly curved or bowed, we have developed a system on our Pax fronts that will enable you to straighten it easily. If you need help, don't hesitate to contact us here.

Maintenance

To maintain your fronts, we recommend using a damp, non-abrasive cloth (such as a microfibre cloth). As far as possible, avoid using detergents, sponges or abrasives, which could damage or scratch your fronts. 🧽
If marks persist on your lacquered facades, do not hesitate to use soapy water on your microfibre cloth (such as Marseille soap) or a window cleaner, which is particularly effective against finger marks on lacquered fronts. However, be careful not to rub too hard to avoid scratching.

As for cane or raffia, depending on where your doors are stored and how damp your room is, marks can appear on the natural rattan fibres, forming brown or black stains. It's very easy to remove these stains using hot water and an anti-mould spray. Start by preparing a mixture of water and the product, dampen a cloth and rub the stains until they disappear (soak the surface well). The stains should come out easily. Then leave your doors to dry in the open air. If small black spots develop, you can repeat the experiment, using less product.

Treatment

If a scratch appears, its treatment will depend on the depth of the scratch: if it's not too deep, you could use water and a microfibre cloth. Otherwise, don't hesitate to contact us here, and we'll be happy to send you a small can of paint in the same colour as your matte lacquer or painted oak fronts, for touching up.
Please note that we do not recommend sanding or varnishing our fronts, as they are already varnished. You run the risk of having to do a lot of work for a result that is not guaranteed.
If you have any questions about the treatment of your fronts, don't hesitate to contact us here with pictures, we'll do our best to help you.
